Feeling overwhelmed due to heavy workload? Don't know what to do about it? Well, I'm here to help you. I'm going to share some tips that let you manage your workload effectively. Let's find out what I have for you.
Tip No.1 Make a To-Do List
Consider it a must. As soon as You reach your office, take a cup of coffee in one hand, and start creating today's task list. What you will do today. It's like setting some small goals to achieve a milestone.
Now when it comes to making a list, you can either go for with To-Do List application or try an old-school method where you write it down.
In my personal opinion, both methods work great as long as you check this list and complete your task accordingly.

While you are setting a to-do list, make sure you are honest to yourself. A realistic list will help you manage workload effectively. You know very well what you can do in a day or week, so try to make a work management plan accordingly to your expertise and capacity.
Tip No.2 Set your Priority
Don't overburden yourself by handling multiple tasks at the same time. An easy way you can try here is to decide what is essential and urgent and what task is not that urgent. In that manner, you will be able to complete an urgent task on time.
Typically, I set my multiple tasks based on the project deadline and also my client's flexibility. If a client demands a job right away, then I start working on its project. Thereby, I deliver a project on time and make my client happy.

Tip No.3 Try to Eat One Slice at a Time
One common thing I often observe when it comes to effective workload management is lack of focus. People try to handle both things at the same time, and this is when they lose. That's a reason that many employees struggle with the workload in an office.
If I have two tasks where Task A should be delivered at the end of the month, and Task B needs to submit in the upcoming week. In that case, I will complete my task B first and put my whole focus on it. Once I'm done with it, I'll begin with Task A.

By following this simple approach, I can deliver both projects in the same month. You need the best thing about this workload management plan is that there won't be any errors and mistakes. Do you know why? Because I put my full focus only on one task.
Let's suppose, and I don't do that and try to complete both at the same time. This workload management plan will definitely drain my energy, and chances of mistakes are more.
Tip No.4 Delegate your workload when required
When you are managing a team, then you try to do the heavy lifting all by yourself. It might seem excellent because you are showing that you are capable of handling a lot. But, in reality, you are just a human being like other people in your team.
A good manager is one who delegates tasks. Do you know why? When you split up a job among two people, then it ends quickly. Pick the right person who can lift weight alongside you and then delegate him. It's not asking for help to be precise. It's more like working on the same goal together.
Tip No.5 Keep Minimal Distraction around
A reason why your workload doesn't manage effectively is that you don't take a digital break while working on it. You think that it's okay to peek into your emails, social media, and posts from time to time. It might seem like a good break to re-energize yourself for work, but it's consuming your mind energy. Try to avoid such distractions as they will not let you stay focus on a given task at hand.

Here are some tools you can use:
-

No matter what tool you pick from the list, the primary purpose of it is to keep you on your work track. Some tools come with notifications of work done, so you can easily monitor what you have done and what is left.
